Introduction

Good morning/afternoon everyone.

Many people want a fresh start in life.
People want to leave behind mistakes, guilt, broken habits, and painful memories.

Some try to start a new life by:

  • moving to a new city

  • changing jobs

  • making new resolutions

  • trying to improve themselves

But the truth is this:

A new place does not create a new person.
Only Christ creates a new life.

The Bible tells us that through Jesus, we are not just improved — we are made completely new.

Today we will learn what it means to experience A Brand New Life in Christ.

1. A Brand New Life Begins with a New Birth

Scripture

John 3:3

“Very truly I tell you, no one can see the kingdom of God unless they are born again.”

Jesus spoke these words to a religious man named Nicodemus.

Nicodemus had:

  • knowledge

  • religion

  • good reputation

But Jesus told him something shocking:

Religion is not enough. You must be born again.

Just as physical life begins with physical birth,
spiritual life begins with spiritual birth.

When we believe in Christ:

  • God forgives our sins

  • God changes our heart

  • God gives us His Spirit

We are no longer spiritually dead.

We are alive in Christ.

2. A Brand New Life Means the Old Life Is Gone

Romans 6:4

Before Christ we lived in:

  • sin

  • selfishness

3. A Brand New Life Comes with a New Heart

Ezekiel 36:26

Before salvation our hearts can be:

  • hard

  • selfish

  • resistant to God

But when God saves us, He performs heart surgery.

4. A Brand New Life Produces New Behavior

Ephesians 4:22–24

“You were taught… to put off your old self… to be made new in the attitude of your minds; and to put on the new self, created to be like God in true righteousness and holiness.”

A changed heart leads to a changed life.

This means we begin to:

  • forgive others

  • speak truth

  • walk in love

  • turn away from sin

  • live in obedience to God

This change does not happen overnight.

It is a daily process of becoming more like Christ.

God is continually shaping us into the image of Jesus.

5. A Brand New Life Comes with a New Future

Revelation 21:5

“He who was seated on the throne said, ‘Behold, I am making everything new!’”

God is not only renewing our hearts.

He is renewing all creation.

For believers:

  • our sins are forgiven

  • our lives are transformed

  • our eternity is secure

One day there will be:

  • no pain

Only eternal life with God.

Our brand new life today is only the beginning of an eternal new life.

Imagine someone living in a dark prison for many years.

One day the door opens.

They are set free.

But sometimes people still live as if they are prisoners — even though the door is open.

Many Christians live the same way.

Jesus has already given them a new life,
but they keep living like their old self.

Remember who you are.

You are:

  • forgiven

Jesus specializes in new beginnings.

God can give you a brand new life.

All you must do is:

  • repent

  • surrender your life to Him

And the promise of Scripture is true:

“If anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation.”

Heavenly Father,
