INTRODUCTION:

Our God is a God of plan and design. He knows the end of the beginning. Whatsoever He does is for our good and the furtherance of His purpose for our lives. As we will be learning from the Israelites today may our lives also become a source of good lessons for the world, Amen.

1. Why should Israel be in Egypt? God spoke to Abram on the day He entered into covenant with him that his seeds will be in Egypt for a specific period of time. To Israel, Egypt was a school, the cauldron to bring the best out of God's children. Gen. 15:13-21, 12:10, 37:28, Exo. 2:5-10, Gal. 3:22-29, Exo. 1:11- 14, Heb. 5:8, 12:5-13.

2. A family can enter into bondage through the activity of one person. Circumstances pushed Jacob to move into Egypt, and all his children moved with him. Some families are in bondage today because of the activities of one person. Jos. 7:1-5, I Sam. 2:27-33, 17:8-11, 28:16-19, ll Sam. 12:9, 10, ll Kings 20:12-18.

2. Conclusion:

It was God's mercies that brought out Israel from Egypt. We all need His mercies everyday.
