INTRODUCTION

In the last part of this series, we saw that self-discipline or self- control is critical to the success or otherwise of the Christian who is determined to live constantly in victory. It is the responsibility of the believer to keep his body from doing what is contrary to the word of God.

As we continue in our study, we pray that the Lord will give us greater understanding in Jesus name, Amen.

1. THE MIND IS A BATTLE-FIELD

The devil desires to take over the mind of the believer to keep his thoughts knowing that what he thinks determines what he does. God is also interested in your mind and wants to speak to you and direct your ways.

Prov. 23:7, Jam. 1:8, Prov. 3:5-6, Ps. 119:34, Phil. 2:5, Ps. 1:1- 3, Phil. 4:6-8, Ps. 119:9, 11, Is. 26:3

2. VICTORY IS NOT ONLY ASSURED THROUGH THE WORD OF GOD

God wants that you have a mind that has been renewed by the word. Your thinking then becomes transformed which in turn influences your behaviour positively.
